On Saturday 13 April, the club held its first US Masters Charity Stableford for Alzheimers, and the response from members was overwhelming.
70 hardy souls ignored the inclement weather to try and win a coveted Green Jacket. Given the challenging conditions, the scores were remarkable, with many reaching the mid-30s. The top three players all finished with 39 points each, leading to the dreaded countback rule.
The nearest the pin competition on the 18th was decided by a player from an early group when Oliver Brace hit to 4 feet.
Thanks to the members for making the event such a success and to Rhys for all his hard work on the day.
The results were as follows:
1st – Andrew Prosser the winner of the Green Jacket (or £40 in the Pro shop)
2nd – Philip Young a 4 ball at Cradoc Golf Club.
3rd – Jerry Whitehouse US Masters memorabilia
4th – Gary McKeown Srixon golf balls.
Nearest the Pin– Oliver Brace who won a US Masters drinks bottle and some Srixon golf balls.
1st place in the raffle – Neil Webb winning a 4 ball at Mond Valley.
If you haven’t collected your raffle prizes they are available in the Pro Shop. The total raised on the day was over £700.
