On Sunday, the mixed section held the Mathias Thomas Foursomes Medal, one of the toughest formats played during the season.

A cold wind and a firm, bouncy course made club selection tricky, while the ever-growing rough was quick to punish any wayward tee shots. Despite the difficult conditions, scoring was good, although many cards were spoiled by a triple bogey or two.

A nett 76 proved to be a popular score, with three pairs tied. Linda Tordoff Evans and Brian Jones finished fourth, Angie Gottwaltz and Roger Schooling took third, and Fair Ball and Alan Morton came in second. However, the clear winners on the day were Donna Kenney and Martin Spurin, who produced an excellent nett 74 to take the title.

There was just one two recorded during the round, made by Gill John and David Blackmore, earning them £32 between them.

Thanks to everyone who took part.
