In aid of the Alzheimer’s Society Forget Me Not Appeal

The competition now celebrates its 10th anniversary, originating from a suggestion by our former Captain, Chris Beecher, who generously sponsored the prizes. In response to his query about hosting a mixed event during the Christmas season, a new tradition was initiated at Tenby Golf Club.

This year’s prizes were sponsored by Mervyn Tucker, a life member, allowing all entry fees to be directed towards charity.

An amazing £605 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Society Forget Me Not Appeal.

Captain Mick Seal and Ladies’ Captain Gill John collaborated to assemble the raffle prizes, and Gill worked hard to set everything up before the competition started.

The weather was not kind with squally showers hammering down during the game. Nevertheless, the presence of occasional blue skies and rainbows compensated for the challenging moments.

Only two pairs dropped out so there were 24 pairs in the competition. An excellent turn-out so thank you very much to those that supported.
The enjoyable game spanned 14 holes, and eight pairs achieved scores below par. Securing the third spot were Nick and Nel Allen with 33 points, while two pairs managed to score 34 points.

Just losing on the last 6 holes were Georgina Ormond and Paul James off 17 handicap, with the winners being Holly and Steve Watkins off 10 handicap.
The next upcoming mixed event is the Valentine’s Crystal Putter, which Georgina and Paul won last year. Visit Masterscoreboard to find out when bookings can be made.

Thanks to Ryan in the Pro Shop for all his help and to the mixed committee for their support.
