Having battled through three rounds of the Daily Mail Foursomes, the Round 4 draw was kind to Dave and Ollie Morris, giving them a home match against Maesteg GC.

The front nine was very close, with Maesteg making good use of the shots they received. But, as so often happens in golf, the match turned completely on one hole. This time it was Tenby’s 11th.

Maesteg had a chance to win the hole, but a three putt from nowhere gave Dave and Ollie an unexpected lead, and from that point they never looked back.

They parred the long 12th, birdied the 13th and eagled the 14th to take a commanding lead. The match was sealed when their opponents put their tee shot on the railway line.

Well done to Dave and Ollie. We will be keeping our fingers crossed for a home draw in Round 5.
