Since 1972, Tenby Golf Club mixed section have organised the Usher Cup Mixed Foursomes Stableford Competition, and this year a large field of 24 teams, fought out a high scoring competition in ideal conditions. The cup was originally donated by Kathleen Usher in memory of her husband, Walter, a long standing member of the club, and proprietor of the Esplanade Hotel.

In 3rd place on countback were Di Dredge and Grant Watkins, pipped by the consistent Heather Morgan and Paul Northam with 40 points.

However, the prize for 1st place was won by Ros and Paul Jenkins with 41 points. Credit must go to them especially when scoring on the 8th hole after an errant tee shot from Paul, well done Ros.

Pam Wareham would be forgiven for losing her cool when she was told to go back to play 3 off the tee on the 15th after Steve’s drive disappeared into deep rough, only to be told, after hitting her tee shot that the ball had been found!

Thanks must go to Jerry Whitehouse and Matt Moseley for checking the scorecards and closing the event.
