The winning pair were Sarah Waring and Simon Gumbley who returned a magnificent score of 41 points. Simon very kindly stepped in at the last minute as Sarah’s original partner sadly had to withdraw and this newly formed partnership finally enabled Sarah to secure a win after many years of trying.
In second place were Helen and Chris Hughes with 40 points just pipping John Ball and Maria Smith on the back nine who came in third place with the same score of 40 points.
Other prize winners included Paul James for the men’s nearest the pin on the 12th hole and Melfa Smith for the ladies nearest the pin on the 17th hole.
Heather Morgan and Mervyn Tucker partnered each other over a period of 25 years and having enjoyed playing in many greensomes together at other clubs during that time they donated the Morgan Tucker trophy as a greensomes stableford allowing the members the chance to play a different format alongside many of the foursomes trophies.
Unfortunately Mervyn was not well enough to attend the presentation but Heather was delighted to be able to present their Morgan Tucker trophy to Sarah who received it on behalf of her and her partner, Simon.
