Three pairs from Tenby Golf Club took on the challenging Llandrindod Wells course on Saturday 6 September in the Ping Mixed Stableford Final.
With a strong wind blowing and the unpredictable bounces of the undulating fairways, scoring proved difficult across the field. Diana Dredge and Ian Duke led the way for Tenby, though unable to replicate their Hamilton Cup-winning form, finishing with 27 points, which became the discarded score.
The standout performance came from Angie Gottwaltz and Roger Schooling, who carded 31 points. They were closely followed by Beth McMann and Brian Jones with a solid 30 points. Together, Tenby’s best two scores combined for 61 points, securing an impressive 4th place. Agonisingly, just one more point would have lifted them to 2nd place on countback, a near miss!
The well-deserved winners were Carmarthen GC, with a fine total of 67 points.
A big thank you goes to all Tenby members who have proudly represented the club in this competition throughout the season.
