Tenby Seniors B team travelled to Cardigan on 24th April for their South Wales Seniors Classic match. The Cardigan team proved to be too strong winning all 3 matches. Roger Schooling and Tim Poole’s chances were dealt a blow early on when the opponents started with a ‘barrage of birdies’ and they maintained their lead to win 4 and 3.

In the 2nd match Chris Beecher and Brian Jones faired a little better. There was never more than one hole in it until Cardigan birdied the 17th to win the game, his 4th birdie of the round off 15 handicap.

Tenby’s Allen Watts, and late replacement, Robin Hagley couldn’t gel and lost their game on the 14th. This was understandable as Robin didn’t know he was playing until 7.30 on the morning of the game! Thanks Robin for playing especially as it was your birthday!  Thanks to Cardigan for their after match hospitality and good luck in the next round.

Tenby B now go into the Plate competition, and they will be hoping for a home draw which seems to be a great advantage in this competition. Tenby A are playing their match at home to Derilys Court next Monday.
