Tenby Golf Club welcomed more than 120 golfers from across England and Wales for its first Mixed Open in many years, and what a day it turned out to be. With wall-to-wall sunshine, a beautifully prepared links course and a lovely atmosphere throughout, the event was a real success from start to finish.
The course looked fantastic thanks to Course Manager Jaime Acton and his hardworking team, and there was plenty of praise from visitors, many of whom were playing Tenby for the first time.
It was lovely to hear so many positive comments throughout the day, especially: “Is this going to be an annual event?” and “I’ll be back.”
A big thank you goes to the volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly, including starters Martin Spurin and Gethin Evans, Beth McMann, who registered all the players, Linda Tordoff Evans, who recorded the results, and Ann Collins, who was here, there and everywhere.
Thanks also to Cathy Griffiths, a volunteer with the DPJ Foundation, who sold raffle tickets throughout the day and helped raise more than £300 for the charity.
And, of course, a huge thank you to the catering team, who worked incredibly hard and provided a brilliant service throughout a very busy and successful day.
