Tenby Ladies made light of the away hoodoo when they defeated Forest Hill’s GC ladies last week. It wasn’t all plain sailing as the match was tied at the end of the 5 singles so the last match had to go to sudden death down the 1st extra hole.
With nerves jangling club Vice Captain Heather Morgan was the ideal person to bring home the victory. It took 2 holes for her to clinch the win.
The team of Heather, Rhian Walters, Sue Griffiths, Alison Daniel, and Pam Wareham can now look forward to a home draw in the next round.
Unfortunately not such good news from the Tenby A team match v Creigiau in the men’s competition, played yesterday. The opponents previous Annodata Matchplay winners, proved too strong winning 3 1/2 to 1 1/2. All matches went to the final few holes.
The Tenby winner was Captain Mick Seal, and Steve Cole secured the half point. Thanks to the other team members Alan Sayers, Glenn Smith and Ian Duke who fought to the end.
