The luxury minibus filled with eager Rabbits golfers (and Robin’s van for the kit) left TGC at 06:30 on Friday 12th bound for our first course, Cradoc Golf Club near Brecon where we were treated to an excellent breakfast.

Suitably nourished, we enjoyed 15 holes of golf at Cradoc GC, the other 3 holes, understandably, still being closed following the dreadful weather of late. However, on the day the sun appeared, layers were discarded and some excellent golf was played for the Silver Rabbit Trophy. Steve Ruff ran out winner on day 1 with Steve Allen in 2nd place and Chas Harrison 3rd.

On to the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod where we received excellent accommodation, service and meals Friday and Saturday nights.

Day 2 we competed for the Oman Cup at Llandrindod GC. This challenging hill-top course presented in excellent condition and, once again, the weather was kind. The winner with his usual consistent performance was Peter Turton, Chas improved his position to take 2nd with Mike Williams finishing a commendable 3rd.

The overall winner of the 2 combined individual Stableford days was Chas Harrison, taking the Peter Watkins Trophy.

Sunday 14th April, the final tour day, we competed in pairs for the Peter Notes Salvers at Builth Wells GC. The pairs were drawn for the 4BBB Stableford competition, played over another testing course in very good condition considering the battle that all green staff have had with the elements this winter. A good day was had by all followed by an excellent Sunday lunch at the club.

Day 3 winners were Steve Allen and Will Williams, in second were Ian Draisey and Robin Bradbury with Peter Turton and Nick Stretton finishing in 3rd place.
