Tenby Seniors travelled to Machynys Peninsula GC on Wednesday 8th April, with the sun shining and shorts making their first appearance of the year.

Machynys, having been soundly beaten in both matches last year, were clearly out for revenge and revenge is exactly what they got. The eight pairs battled it out, with most matches going right down to the wire. However, the home team seemed to hold their nerve better over the closing holes, eventually winning 6–2.

Martin Spurin played a captain’s innings to win his match, but Tenby’s afternoon was perhaps best summed up by the match behind, where a Machynys player holed his third shot on the par 5 last to snatch the win.

Of course, the result isn’t important, the match was played in great spirit and Tenby will have the chance to redeem themselves on home turf in early May.
