After a long spell of dry weather, Easter Sunday brought a return to more traditional conditions, strong winds and heavy rain gave the early starters a proper test in the Brooks Cup. But the Mixed Section showed their usual grit, with not a single team backing out for a lie-in and a warm duvet!
As the day went on, the weather began to ease, giving the later tee times the edge – and the scorecards certainly showed it. Most teams battled their way to the low 20s in Stableford points, but two pairs rose well above the rest. Fair and Allan and Roger and Angie both carded impressive 39-point rounds, with Fair and Allan just edging it on countback.
A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it another great day for the Mixed Section, despite the challenging conditions!
As for 2s – they were rare as hen’s teeth. Just one was recorded, and it came courtesy of Ros and Paul Jenkins on the 17th. That single 2 earned them a tidy £48!
