Our Ladies Section came together on Thursday 7th May for my Lady Captain’s Charity Day, held in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, a cause very close to my heart. It was a day filled with sunshine, generosity, laughter, and more than a few emotional moments as my sister and I remembered our Mum, who lived with Alzheimer’s before she passed away.
The competition format was a Team of 3 Texas Scramble, made more entertaining by the challenge of using only three clubs and a putter. Judging by the lively debates on the first tee, some teams had used up half their energy before they’d even struck a ball. Despite the restrictions, the scoring was impressive and the spirit even better.
We also ran Nearest the Line on the 7th and Nearest the Pin on the 17th, both hotly contested and adding to the fun. Congratulations to all our prize-winners, and well done to every team for embracing the challenge with such enthusiasm.
A special thank you to our greenkeepers, who keep the course in tip-top condition, even if some of us insist on redecorating the bunkers. Their early-morning work never goes unnoticed.
Huge thanks also to Beth, Guto and the whole team in the 19th, whose continued hard work keeps everything running smoothly while we swan about with golf clubs.

Prizes & Donations
The prizes were donated by the Lady Captain, including:
Golf balls from the Pro Shop
Gift vouchers for LÔTH Tenby
We also received raffle donations throughout the month, and I’m so grateful to everyone who contributed so kindly. The winner of the Spring Hamper was our very own Marion Clarke, a much-loved member of Tenby Golf Club.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we raised an amazing £750 for the Alzheimer’s Society, plus further donations made through my JustGiving page – a wonderful total that will support families affected by dementia.
