The rain poured and the gales blew, but nothing could stop 61 hardy Tenby Golf Club members turning out to support the Captain’s Charity Stableford. Every one of them deserves a medal, although unfortunately there could only be three prize winners in each section.

In the men’s section, Paul Davies, Mike Anthony and Andy Cope all scored 36 points, but narrowly missed out on third place after countback. In the ladies’ section, Louise Hill and Heather Buckett were the unlucky ones, finishing just two points behind third place.

The results were as follows:

Men
1st – and winner of the Green Jacket, which he keeps for a year – was Mark Edwards with 38 points. Mark also wins one dozen Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.
2nd – Mick Seal, who wins a Vermillion putter.
3rd – Phil Goodridge, who wins a Ryder Cup umbrella.

Ladies
1st – Gill John, who wins a set of Ping US Masters headcovers.
2nd – Mandy Jones, who wins a Ryder Cup umbrella.
3rd – Diana Dredge, who wins a Tenby Golf Club US Masters drinks bottle.

All prizes can be collected from Brian Jones.

You may be wondering what happened to the nearest the pin prize on the 17th hole. Unfortunately, the sheet recording the scores was last seen heading towards Kiln Park. It has been retrieved before by Paul Davies, but this time Mother Nature took control, so there was no official winner.

Instead, it has been decided to award three golf balls each to the two players who birdied the 17th hole. Well done to Ollie Morris and Jonathan Webb.

An excellent £750+ was raised on the day through entry fees and the raffle, thanks to the amazing support of Tenby Golf Club members.

Several raffle prizes were not claimed. A list of prize numbers will be placed on the notice board by the changing rooms, and winners are asked to contact Brian.
