Firstly, I would like to thank the membership for allowing me to become Captain of the oldest golf club in Wales, it’s an honour and a privilege. Growing up in the area as a sporty kid, I never thought I would ever be able to play golf, never mind becoming Captain of Tenby Golf Club.
My chosen charity is the DPJ Foundation, a mental health charity supporting the agricultural sector. It was started 10 years ago in Pembrokeshire by Emma Picton Jones, whose husband sadly took his own life. The need within the farming community has been so great that it is now Wales-wide. It is predominantly a volunteer-run charity, providing a 24/7 helpline. The year has started well thanks to the generous donation at the Tenby Male Voice Choir event, and the raffle at the Seniors’ Christmas dinner, thank you.
I would like to wish you and your families a Merry Christmas, and a prosperous and dry New Year.
Best wishes
Brian
