The distinct chill in the air didn’t perturb the Tenby members. As expected, the competition was reduced to 14 holes due to flooding, but despite the conditions several pairs weren’t held back and the scoring was impressive.
Four teams showed the quality of golf on display, each carding 33 points, a total that could have been a winning score on any other day. With the leaderboard that tight, 2nd to 5th were decided on the dreaded countback. Just missing out on the prizes were Pat and Bob Forrest, and Georgia Ormond and Meirion Griffiths.
In 3rd place were Di Dredge and Philip Caulfield, who won a golf umbrella each. 2nd place went to Ann and Wyndham Collins, picking up a golf goodie bag each. Taking 1st place with a fantastic 35 points were Heather Morgan and Paul Northam, who each received a dozen Titleist Pro V1s.
Thanks to the generosity of the Tenby members, over £1,000 was raised through the Christmas Hamper raffle and the Charity Day. The money will be shared between Helen’s charity, the Alzheimer’s Society, and Brian’s charity, the DPJ Foundation.
Thanks must go to Helen for organising the very successful Christmas Hamper, and for securing numerous prizes for the charity raffle.
