Tenby Pairs Success at Holyhead

Heather Buckett and Ann Topliss braved strong winds and tough competition from 34 pairs to claim victory in the Aussie Spoons with 37 points. This was their first time representing the club together, and they achieved this on a course they had never played before.

The following day, they placed 6th in the Centenary Greensomes with 35 points. Both competitions took place under challenging conditions, with winds between 25-40 kts at Anglesey.

Welsh Men’s Senior Greensomes

Ted Buckett and Chris Topliss stepped in last minute to compete after Steve Lewis had to withdraw due to illness. Fortunately, they had their golf gear on hand, as they were accompanying their wives to Anglesey. Battling gusts over 50 kts and light rain, they managed a score of 34 points, earning the Silver Medal as runners-up.

Though it was a long trip from Tenby, it was worth it, as both teams brought honours back to Tenby Golf Club.
